Talos' Aspect is the first unlocking Aspect for the Fists of Maphon that you'll unlock and is considered the best for a few reasons. It's not for the faint of heart and it bears a fairly steep learning curve, but if you can make it work, the Aspect of Gilgamesh might just prove to be the most layered, domineering aspect in Hades with (perhaps) the highest ceiling of the bunch.Best Twin Fists of Malphon Aspect: Aspect of Talos However, the more I play it, the more I find myself taken with the AOG. Learning the Maim mechanic may take some time, but I'll take a trickier aspect with a higher ceiling over something a bit more repetitive any day.Įverybody has their favorite aspects, and far be it for me to make the objective decision to a subject question. Literally shredding through hordes of enemies by the end of the game is so, so gratifying and it makes Hades a thrilling boss to revisit, since the challenge factor is always present. It's a high-risk-high-reward gambit every time, and it doesn't invite any cheap tactics. Lastly, the Aspect of Gilgamesh is just plain fun. All of the gods and goddesses have decent potential with the AOG, but Demeter/Athena/Poseidon are my favorites. A little Hermes speed boost never hurt, either. Poseidon's knock-away boons are particularly nasty when paired with Maim, since your MO will generally be hitting enemies with Maim before pushing them away, granting you space to either rush in after them or find another patch of enemies to tear through. Athena's basic Deflect boons go a long way, considering how mobile/melee focused the AOG is. This upgrade is exclusive to the AOG and it's easy to see why.įrost Strike (Demeter) with the AOG can stack Chill on enemies, so combining that with Arctic Blast is a viable way to accumulate massive amounts of damage. A -30% speed reduction to Maimed enemies on its own would be fairly overwhelming, but another +25% damage increase is the cherry on top. While we're on the topic of hammer upgrades, Rending Claws is just stupid. Colossal Knuckle makes you sturdy when you use attack or special, which helps tremendously, particularly when Maimed enemies have their own damage boosted. That number jumps up when enemies are Maimed, and your mobility when holding down the attack button is pretty generous. With no boons or relics, your baseline attack damage is 60 per hit with the AOG. Bonus points if you earn that Near Miss and bump up an already-powerful attack with an extra +50%. Rush in with your extra dashes, Maim, evacuate, repeat against another small horde of enemies. I know the +25% you take with Maim activated can be tough to parse, but you can play the AOG with a hit-&-run strategy in mind. Your total dash count is still 3, and the bonus +50% damage and dash with a Near Miss just amplifies your overall damage output. With all that said, I'm pretty sure the Aspect of Gilgamesh is the best aspect in Hades.įirst of all, the extra dashes play beautifully with Ruthless Reflex. I love how the game encourages experimentation, and it hooks you into a gameplay loop that just does not tire. Assuming you're good and experienced enough at the game, you can make virtually any aspect viable with the right build. One of the greatest elements of Hades is that there's quite a bit of subjectivity when it comes to the best weapons and aspects.
